Hi, I'd like to discuss support for an upcoming event. Help needed: Not decided Event type: Not decided Event area: Putrajaya Date: Not decided Approx. attendees: Not decided Reference: EV-1107 / en Page: https://eventconsultant.com.my/areas/putrajaya/
The short answer
In Putrajaya, start with two questions. Which agency approves your event? Does your date clash with the government calendar?
Ask the venue operator or Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPJ) first. Then write down how delegates arrive from Kuala Lumpur and KLIA. The brief below keeps all of this in one place.
What to verify for Putrajaya
- Is your event inside a venue or in a public space? A venue operator answers for its own halls. PPJ answers for public spaces.
- Does PPJ's event application system apply to your event? Ask PPJ. Its portal lists an event application system, hall booking, filming applications, lake activity permits and business licensing.
- Does the Federal Territories Department (Jabatan Wilayah Persekutuan, JWP) have any role in approving a professional event? Ask JWP. Do not assume either way.
- Does any government calendar date block your booking? Ask PPJ and the venue, then test your dates with the host-city date checker.
- Which precinct is the venue in? PPJ names places by precinct (Presint) number, so put the precinct in every instruction you send.
- Who handles hall booking, catering and audio-visual equipment? For the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), ask PICC directly. Its contact page lists enquiry and online booking channels.
- Who owns the brief and updates it when an answer changes? Name one person.
Access from Kuala Lumpur and KLIA
ERL's KLIA Transit page lists these stops: KLIA T1, KLIA T2, Salak Tinggi, Putrajaya & Cyberjaya, Bandar Tasik Selatan and KL Sentral. So "Putrajaya & Cyberjaya" is the official stop name to use in delegate instructions.
The stop is only the first part of the journey. Ask ERL for the timetable and service pattern on your date, and ask the venue how delegates get from the stop to the entrance.
- Does the MRT Putrajaya Line station connect to the ERL stop? This is not confirmed. Ask Rapid KL or MRT Corp before you tell delegates.
- Which delegates arrive by road, and where do they park or get dropped off? Ask the venue in writing.
Putrajaya has its own authorities
Putrajaya is a federal territory, so the two portals to read are PPJ and JWP. For an event in Selangor or Kuala Lumpur you would ask a different authority.
PPJ's own events listing shows public events on a Saturday and a Sunday in 2026, so a weekend date is not ruled out. Confirm your date with PPJ or the venue anyway.

Worked example · Fictional example
A fictional association writes its Putrajaya brief
Fictional organisation and figures, for illustration only.
Persatuan Fiktif Pegawai Latihan plans a one-day forum for about 150 delegates. Its first draft says: book a hall, arrive by KLIA Transit.
The revised brief names who was asked about approvals and when, adds the precinct to the arrival instructions, notes the ERL stop by its official name, and lists the one date the venue could not confirm.

Handle it in-house, or bring in help?
Your team can usually handle this when
- The venue handles approvals for its own halls and your dates are already cleared.
- Your delegates are mostly local and know the area.
- Someone on your committee can make the calls and keep the list.
Outside planning help earns its fee when
- You are not sure whether the event needs PPJ, JWP or only the venue.
- Delegates arrive from several directions and nobody owns the arrival plan.
- Your committee is in another city and cannot visit before the event.
Want someone to work through these checks with you?
We can keep the approvals, date checks and arrival plan in one place, and manage the event itself with the specialists it needs, within the scope we agree. Planning can be done remotely, and we can arrange on-site support and travel to Putrajaya when the scope needs it. Travel and accommodation are charged when part of the agreed scope. Send your dates, venue and what is still open, and we will reply with the level of support that fits and what it would cover.
