The short answer
Compare Johor's host districts by how your delegates arrive and which council covers the address. Before you fix a date, confirm the state weekend and the state holidays with the state government.
Two official pages disagree about the weekend, so do not rely on either.
What to verify for Johor
- What is the state's weekly rest day in your event year? Johor's holiday page names Sunday as the weekly rest day. Tourism Johor's contact page lists Friday and Saturday as closed days. Ask the Johor State Secretary's Office (Pejabat Setiausaha Kerajaan, SUK) to confirm in writing.
- Which state holidays fall on your dates? Johor's 2026 list names 18 state public holidays, including the Sultan's official birthday on 23 March 2026 and the Hol of Almarhum Sultan Iskandar on 21 July 2026. Check the list for your event year, then test your dates with the host-city date checker.
- What happens when a holiday meets the weekend? The same page says a holiday on the weekly rest day (Sunday) is replaced by the next working day, and a holiday on a Saturday is not replaced. It also marks some dates as subject to amendment.
- Which district will host? Tourism Johor lists district pages for Segamat, Mersing, Tangkak, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Kulai, Pontian, Johor Bahru and Kota Tinggi.
- Which council covers the address? Johor has several, including MBJB, MBIP, MBPG and MPKu. Ask the venue for its full address, then check the council's own portal.
- How do delegates arrive? Tourism Johor lists Senai International Airport, ferry terminals (Tanjung Belungkor, Stulang Laut, Puteri Harbour and Desaru Coast), road, KTM and Larkin Sentral as entrances. Ask each operator for the service on your date.
- Is there a business-event desk? Tourism Johor has a Business Event menu entry, but that page has no content. Ask Tourism Johor directly.

Johor has its own holidays and weekend
Johor has its own state holiday list and its own state-level weekend question. A date that works in Melaka or Selangor may not work here, so check Johor's list first.

Persatuan Fiktif Pengurus Logistik plans a one-day seminar for about 120 delegates. Its first draft picks a Friday and a Johor Bahru venue.
Before booking, the secretary asks the State Secretary's Office to confirm the weekly rest day in writing, and finds that one holiday near the date may be amended. The seminar moves to a date the office has confirmed.
